Well, I've decided on 8 pairs that I think I can do without in Australia. This still leaves me with 12 that I really want to bring. I fear that this might be problematic.
However, I have already preformed a packing miracle by fitting all of the clothing I'll need into a single suitcase (thanks largely to the wonders of the Space Bag), so we'll see what I can do...

Two or three should do it. Really, Australia cannot become your closet, otherwise the whole country will get lost looking for your shoes.

I understand the need for shoes! Take a few pairs with you and mail the rest. Perhaps narrow it down a couple more pairs.

12 pairs. . .that could be problematic. How about 6? 6 is enough, right? How about take 3, and have your family ship the others? Of course I don't know how attached you are to shoes. I only have one regular pair.
I'm going to have to buy some of those space bags.
